A family story
Hello ! I’m Stanislas Feraud, director of Transitube International.
Since I was a kid, I’ve been fascinated by the industrial world of powder transfer and coating.
Why ? Here’s our family story …
It all started in 1961…
…With my grandfather, Blaise Rastoin.
At the time, food powder transfer was done entirely by hand. A tedious process requiring large teams and a great deal of time.
Blaise Rastoin - an engineer and entrepreneur at heart - set himself a challenge : To commercialise a machine capable of automating the process, and permanently revolutionising the food powder transfer industry.
And so the first "transitube" was born :
A flexible and robust tube in which the mechanical action of a flexible screw moves powder from point A to point B.
Automatically.
For that time, it was a true innovation.
For my grandfather, it marked the beginning of a long entrepreneurial and family adventure…
The arrival of custom-built solutions…
The flexible screw Transitube was a success.
Hundreds of factories equipped themselves to automate their flour and grain transfer.
But there were still some limitations… The Transitube worked well for so-called "free-flowing" powders…
But not well enough for powders with fluctuating or poor flow properties.
For every problem, a solution: the first flexible screw bridge breaker came to market, enabling smooth and continuous transfer of all powder types.
Over time, additional equipment followed to offer an even more complete solution: storage, extraction, loading, lump breaking, dosing…
From that point on, Transitube was no longer just an equipment supplier. It became a true engineering and design consultancy.
1982 - First Twin-Turbine Coater
With several companies now specialised in transfer, it was time for Blaise Rastoin to innovate in another area of powder handling:
Coating.
The challenge was clear: to commercialise a machine capable of coating continuously, homogeneously, without damaging product quality.
And so the first twin-drum coater was born.
